GeoPol is centered around faction gameplay and uses server-sided plugins to allow people to create their own teams, engage in diplomacy with other factions, and stake their claim on the world.
The following is a list of commands availible to players to utilize the factions stystem. Keep in mind, factions must be enemied using the /f enemy command only for raids and wars. Follow the rules as they are outlined in the Discord
A faction is required to be created to protect any land with a claim (see command list above). Factions have a minimum of 1 member and a maximum of 5, this is to ensure fairness to smaller groups. Claims protect blocks in a chunk from being destroyed or accessed by enemy players using conventional means but blocks can still be broken using raiding tools during a raid (see raiding guide for more details). Alliances are allowed between factions however it is up to staff discretion to ask alliances to cut down on members to prevent alliances from essentially being larger factions. Faction leaders should make a post in the #current-factions channel in the discord to let other players know of their existence and possibly recruit others.
Power is the metric that determines characteristics of faction claims. The total power capacity of a faction increases by 2 for every new member they recruit. The more power a faction has, the more chunks they can claim, the maximum number of claims for a faction is 12 chunks. Faction claims can be overclaimed by other groups when their power lowers below 25%. When a faction is founded, they begin at their maximum however, faction power lowers upon death of any member. The lowest power a 1 player faction can have is -16, the maximum for a 5 player faction is 20. One faction power point regenerates every 5 and a half minutes. This means if a player in a solo-faction and reaches negative sixteen (-16) power, it would take them 3 hours on the server to regenerate back to positive sixteen power (16)
